About Top Shelf Trends

How we started

It all started in the fifth grade when I hit a whopping 5'1.5" and then stopped. Forever. But that's a long story, so for our purposes we're going to jump ahead to 2022, when it started with an invitation. "Black tie preferred" it said. A seemingly simple task - find a pretty, affordable floor-length gown. But it turned out to be not so simple. It was the busy season at work, so online shopping was the only option. I thought I'd found the perfect gown - my favorite color, just within my budget, and the perfect fit...other than the length. But that was fine, I was going to get it hemmed. Except that the cost to hem it was just as much as the dress itself, making it way out of budget.

So I ordered gown after gown, looking for petite or short sizes only to be disappointed when I found out that the dress I wanted didn't come in specialty sizes or they were out of my size. "It shouldn't be like this," I thought to myself.

So I decided to do something about it.

Introducing Top Shelf Trends, a digital marketplace specifically designed for petite women. At Top Shelf Trends we believe that the best things in life should never be out of reach. We hope that our platform will help you find clothes that you love that actually fit well. And if you can't find it here, maybe you'll feel better spending the extra money on alterations for that special occasion knowing that you can resell your clothes here and recoup some of your investment.

And I'll admit that I'm using the royal we here,

as there's only one person running the show at

Top Shelf Trends (at least for now). I'm Carly,

founder and self-appointed CEO of Top Shelf Trends.

As I noted before, I am 5'1.5" and I recently graduated

with my Masters degree in Business Administration

- these are pretty much my only qualifications for

running this website. I say this because I want you to

have an incredible experience with my website, but

admit that everything might not be perfect. I don't

know how to code beyond some basic HTML and I'm

learning as I go. With that said, my goal is to one day

turn Top Shelf Trends into a well-oiled machine of a

business with folks who make up for my shortcomings

(pun intended) so I promise if you stick with us it will be

worth it! I also LOVE feedback, so if there's something

you think could be improved please reach out

to carly@topshelftrends.co.
